Job Title: Application Developer (Temporary/Contractor)

Department: Electronic trading

Reports to: Head of Electronic Trading

Position summary: This individual will primarily be involved in enhancing, testing and maintaining Electronic Trading desk’s proprietary trading and reporting software, including supporting the desk’s day to day operations and end of day compliance and trade reporting operations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Maintain the availability and reliability of the Electronic Trading desk’s proprietary black-box trading system.

• Support and enhance Electronic Trading desk’s proprietary reporting infrastructure.

• Provides first-line technology support for EOD (End of Day) operations for Electronic trading desk.

• Evaluate user-initiated requests for new functionality or enhancements to existing functionality and consult with users to clarify program objectives and to gather feedback for EOD processing and reporting.

• Design, implement, and test system enhancements, applying knowledge and experience of software development, programming techniques, and computer systems.

• Assess the technological impact of system changes to ensure the stable integration of software updates

• Perform after-hours system upgrades, deployments, and maintenance.

• Write technical specifications and document trading system changes in accordance with TWP compliance requirements.

• Provide primary support for Electronic Trading applications.

• Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced trading floor environment

• Perform other duties as directed by the Head of Electronic Trading and the Chief Quantitative Strategist.

Essential skills and experience:

• MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience a must.

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in developing UNIX and Windows based Multi-threaded, Client-Server applications.

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Java/C# and SQL.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in VBA and Excel macros.

• Good familiarity in Perl, Shell scripting, TCP/IP and Sockets based programming will be a plus.

Essential skills and experience (continued):

• Experience in FIX protocol and real-time market data feeds, ECNs and exchanges is desirable.

• Good Knowledge of Financial Services and working experience in Financial Services organization.

• Experience in software development lifecycle principles and practices, including: requirements analysis, data modeling, design, development, installation, integration, enhancement, maintenance, unit testing, problem diagnosis/resolution.

• Strong object oriented programming skills.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong multi-tasking abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with end users.

• Strong interest in investing and the financial markets.

Nonessential skills and experience:

• Experience in back office, compliance and regulatory processes is a plus.
